Exhibition Exploring the Facets of Life Opens at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum
Residents are invited to discover a thought-provoking new exhibition at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum in Eastwood.
‘The Optimist’s Incomplete’, produced by SEVHAGE ABC4DE, TransitUs and BBAAF, and curated by Su’ur Su’eddie Vershima Agema, explores themes including love, memory, nostalgia, healing and the ongoing journey of becoming through a combination of photography, poetry and music. Inspired in part by the works of D.H. Lawrence, the exhibition encourages visitors to reflect on the many experiences that shape our lives.
Adding to its unique nature, the exhibition will evolve during its run. After four weeks, some installations will be replaced with new pieces, while the original works will become available for purchase alongside poetry books, creating a continually changing visitor experience.
The exhibition is free to visit and will be on display until Sunday 13 September 2026 at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum Gallery during normal opening hours:
- Thursday to Saturday
- 10:00am to 4:00pm
Located in the house where renowned author D.H. Lawrence was born in 1885, the museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore a faithfully restored Victorian miner’s home alongside permanent displays celebrating Lawrence’s life and literary legacy.
