Roadworks Bulletins

This page provides details of current and upcoming roadworks, temporary road closures and traffic restrictions affecting Trowell and the surrounding area.

Information published here is provided to Trowell Parish Council by Nottinghamshire County Council, Via East Midlands and other relevant highways authorities or contractors.

Where available, we will publish the original roadworks bulletin, including details of dates, times, affected roads, restrictions and diversion routes.

Please be aware that roadworks can sometimes be changed, postponed or rescheduled at short notice, particularly due to weather conditions or operational requirements.

Residents are encouraged to check this page regularly for the latest bulletins received by the Parish Council.

UPDATED ROADWORKS INFORMATION – 7 TO 11 SEPTEMBER

We have now received updated information for the roadworks on the A609 Ilkeston/Nottingham Road and A6007 Stapleford/Trowell Road.

We apologise for the late notice, but this updated information has only just been received by the Parish Council.

Access
Access will be allowed during the closures, but there may be delays while heavy machinery is moved. Vehicles will then be escorted through.

Buses
We have been advised that buses will not run during the daytime closures on Monday and Friday, or during the evening closures.

The work is weather dependent, so the arrangements may change.

We will share any further updates we receive.

Roadworks Update – Resident Access on Sunday

Following publication of the latest Roadworks Bulletin, Trowell Parish Council contacted Via East Midlands to ask for clarification about resident access during Sunday’s road closure.

Via East Midlands has advised that resident access should be maintained where possible.

There may be short delays while machinery is moved to make it safe for vehicles to pass.

Marshals should be on site and will advise residents where they can enter or leave the affected area. The available access may vary during the works depending on where the work is taking place at the time.

Residents travelling to work or with other commitments on Sunday are therefore advised to allow a little extra time for their journey.

A609 & A6007 – Surface Dressing Works

Dates: Sunday 6 September to Friday 11 September 2026

Via East Midlands has issued an updated roadworks bulletin for surface dressing works affecting the A609 and A6007 through Trowell and Stapleford.

Roads affected

  • A609 Ilkeston Road, Trowell – for its entire length

  • A609 Nottingham Road, Trowell – between its junctions with A609 Ilkeston Road and Cossall Road

  • A6007 Trowell Road, Stapleford – for its entire length

  • A6007 Stapleford Road, Trowell – for its entire length

Dates and times

Sunday 6 September
Road closure – 7.00am to 7.00pm

Monday 7 September to Thursday 10 September
Mobile works – 7.00pm to 6.00am

Friday 11 September
Road closure – 7.00am to 7.00pm

Restrictions

  • Road closure

  • Temporary parking restrictions on both sides, at all times

A signed diversion/alternative route will be in operation during the closures.
