Help Us Create a Special Community Remembrance Display

Trowell Parish Council is inviting residents to help create this year’s Remembrance display by donating handmade knitted or crocheted poppies.

Last year, the Parish Council and the Parish Hall caretakers created a beautiful display to mark Remembrance. This year, we want to build on that by inviting the whole community to become part of it.

Whether you are an experienced knitter or crocheter, or are just looking for a small project to get involved with, every poppy will help create a moving tribute to those who gave so much for our freedom. One poppy is just as valuable as one hundred, and every contribution will make a difference.

We welcome poppies of all sizes, styles and patterns, and would particularly love to hear from local knitting, crochet and craft groups who would like to support the project.

How to Get Involved

What we need:
Handmade knitted or crocheted poppies in any style or size.

Drop-off location:
Trowell Parish Hall
Stapleford Road
Trowell
NG9 3QA

Deadline for donations:
Thursday 29 October 2026

By working together, we hope to create a Remembrance display that reflects the generosity, creativity and community spirit of Trowell while paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you to everyone who chooses to take part. We look forward to seeing your wonderful creations.

Lest We Forget.
