Please Keep Dogs on Leads Around Livestock

Trowell Parish Council was saddened to hear of a recent livestock attack near the canal footpath area in Trowell.

We would like to remind all residents and visitors that dogs should be kept under close control and on leads when walking near fields containing livestock.

Even well-behaved dogs can cause distress, injury or worse to sheep and other animals if they enter fields or chase livestock.

Following recent works and increased use of local footpaths, we encourage everyone to remain aware of their surroundings and to respect fences, gates and grazing land.

We know the vast majority of dog owners are responsible, and we thank residents for helping to keep our countryside safe for everyone.

Incidents involving livestock worrying or attacks should be reported to Nottinghamshire Police via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
