Statement from Trowell Parish Council

Trowell Parish Council recognises that the volume of Freedom of Information requests, follow-up correspondence and internal review requests received since June 2025 has created a significant administrative burden for a small parish authority with a single officer.

The Council acknowledges the work undertaken by the Clerk in responding to these requests in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, while continuing to carry out the statutory duties of Proper Officer, Responsible Financial Officer and Parish Hall Manager.

The Council confirms its support for the Clerk in managing these requests on behalf of the Council and in applying the Council’s statutory responsibilities, so that the Council’s governance and day-to-day administration can continue to be carried out effectively.
