Public Notice – Meeting Cancellation – Thursday 16th October 2025

Trowell Parish Council would like to inform all visitors that the meeting which had been advertised to take place at Trowell Parish Hall on Thursday 16th October has been cancelled.

The original booking was made by the Environment Agency for a small presentation to SATBBAG regarding the Erewash Valley. However, the event was later widely promoted as a public meeting about Boundary Brook, which differs from the original purpose of the booking.

Due to the level of publicity and the large number of people expected to attend — including individuals from outside Trowell — the Council has had to take into account both safety and capacity limits, as well as the presence of other hall users, including children’s groups, on the same evening.

The decision to cancel this booking has not been taken lightly, but was made to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone using the hall and its surroundings.

The Council has offered the organisers the opportunity to use the Main Hall on an alternative date, so that the meeting may take place safely in a larger space.
