Celebrating the Festival of Britain in Trowell

Trowell Parish Council warmly invites you to a special day of community celebration as we mark the Festival of Britain Anniversary.

Join us on Saturday 16th May 2026, 10am – 3pm, for a relaxed, traditional village gathering filled with 1950s charm.

The day will begin with the ringing of the church bells at 11am, followed by maypole dancing and performances from Morris dancers. Bring your own picnic and enjoy our Teddy Bears’ Picnic, along with old-fashioned games and a display celebrating Trowell’s history.

A special highlight will be the launch of a new Trowell Time Capsule, which will be added to throughout the celebrations.
