RESTORATION WORKS COMPLETED AT THE HALL.


On the 25th of June 2021, Trowell Parish Hall, when opened, was found to be completely flooded.  Every room had been affected.  It’s amazing how much damage a faulty section of the Heating System can cause.

Almost immediately, Staff and Councillors began work hard to remove as much water
as possible, hoping that doing so, would enable the drying process to begin.  Sadly, it
quickly became apparent that the damage caused would require specialised equipment
and knowledge to complete this task.  The Parish Hall had only reopened 6 months
prior to this, after an extensive refurbishment, which lasted almost 6 months.

When the removal of all the flooring and kitchen fittings commenced, this included
the main hall flooring, it became apparent that Asbestos mitigation previously carried
out, had been disturbed. Specialists were appointed to test, remove and dispose of it.
Finally drying began, which took 3 weeks.  When complete everything removed had to be refitted, resulting in new flooring
throughout the Parish Hall, new kitchen units and a complete redecoration. Eight long months of disruption ended, and the work was completed.

We are very pleased to announce that Trowell Parish Hall is now ready and waiting for Covid 19 restrictions to be lifted.  We are looking forward to the return of all our regular hirers and especially new hirers.

Trowell Parish Hall is a versatile venue that
can be used for a wide range of activities and meetings.
